I’ve had tons of fun and crazy experiences at Las Vegas strip clubs. But as much fun as they are, they aren’t even close to what happens at a Tijuana strip club.
I know I mostly cover Vegas here, but my tips on strip clubs and escorts are helpful anywhere you go.
So, to help you guys possibly expand your horizons, I decided to cover my experiences in Tijuana, Mexico for this article. Mind you, I don’t consider myself a Tijuana strip club expert like I am with Vegas strip clubs and escorts. However, I’ve been there countless times, and have done so safely and without incident.
The biggest difference about Tijuana strip clubs is that “extras” like what I write about in many articles like this are the norm there. You don’t have to work for them at all, so it’s mostly like a brothel with a strip club attached.
If that sounds like your kind of place and you’re curious about making the quick trip across the border to check out a Tijuana strip club, I’ll let you know how it all works, what to expect, and how not to get robbed by the police.
(Yes, the police will rob you there…)
Getting To a Tijuana Strip Club
Obviously, to go to a Tijuana strip club, you’re first going to have to get to Tijuana. This means crossing the border, which seems simple enough, but you have to do it the right way.
The biggest mistake I see people making is driving across the border and heading to one of the big clubs like Hong Kong (HK). The trip seems super short, and most people think they’ll be safe in the car.
But this is a huge mistake. The chances of getting pulled over by the local cops are very high, especially with American license plates. When the cops pull you over, they’ll accuse you of some fake violation, and then hit you with some fee or fine you have to pay in order to get released.
If you say no or argue, you end up spending a few nights in a Mexican jail until you realize you have no choice.
I only drove across the border in a car once, but I was with a friend who had contacts and family in Mexico. So he knew the local situation and wasn’t worried about dealing with the police. We had no issues on that trip, but I would not suggest you drive across the border in an American-registered car.
Instead, what I do is park near the border on the U.S. side, like a grocery store parking lot or something similar, then either walk or take an Uber to the border.
The most convenient spot is about 2 hours south of Los Angeles. It’s a city called San Ysidro that’s near the Mexico border.
HK has a shuttle bus that runs back and forth from the club to the border, and it’s safe. Yes, I understand that I just told you the cops are dangerous and will rob you, but the strip club shuttle bus is totally safe. But that’s just how Mexico is.
I’m sure HK and the local police have some deal going, and neither the cops nor any criminals mess with the HK shuttle bus.
I’ve also seen workers from some of the smaller clubs come to the border and offer to take customers to the various clubs. These are going to be riskier than the well-known HK bus, but they do seem legit from what I’ve seen.
However, if you’re new to all of this, I suggest sticking with the HK bus, as it’s the safest option until you start to learn more about how Tijuana works.
Dress and Act Appropriately
You do NOT want to dress up for a Tijuana strip club visit. Almost any type of nice clothes can be “dressing up” in this context. You don’t want to draw any attention to yourself when in Tijuana as a visitor.
The more you blend in and look “average” or even poor, the better. This means no flashy clothes, shoes, watches, or jewelry.
Don’t make eye contact with strangers once you cross the border, and don’t let any random people start conversations with you. Your goal is just to get to HK (or whatever club you chose), have your fun, and get back.
I know this makes it sound like it’s not fun at all, but the clubs are extremely fun, you just have to be very careful and street smart when moving between the clubs, the border, and your hotel if you’re bringing a girl back there.
Remember, you don’t want to draw attention to yourself. This includes looking around like you’re lost or looking like you’re trying to figure out where to go. This draws attention from the wrong kind of people. So even if you’re lost or confused, don’t show it.
This advice works in any city, but it’s especially true for Tijuana.
Stepping Inside Hong Kong Strip Club in Tijuana, Mexico
Assuming you followed my advice and did everything right, you have now safely arrived at HK. This is the fun part!
HK is more expensive than other Tijuana strip clubs, but it’s the biggest, and it’s a good spot for beginners.
There are a few different areas within the club. These probably change every so often, but I’ve been there when there was a two-girl show area. There was also a toy-show area where customers could use toys on the girls, assuming the guys tipped. There are also booths and seating areas scattered around.
Overall, it’s a big club, and at peak times, it’s totally packed and feels more like a Vegas nightclub with standing room only. If you’re not cool with crowded clubs and loud music, this place may not be for you.
The Stages at Hong Kong in Tijuana
The stages and HK are very good. I’m always complaining about U.S. strip clubs (including Vegas clubs) where the girls barely dance on stage anymore. I understand why they don’t, but it takes away so much of the excitement and vibe that a strip club should have.
It’s one of the reasons I go back to Chica Bonitas here in Vegas. It’s a total dump of a club, but the girls dance non-stop, and the atmosphere is always wild.
Anyway, back to Hong Kong. The stages here are very active, and you can tip as little as a dollar, and that goes a long way. The girls dance whether guys are tipping or not.
If you’re new, just try to read the room. If nobody is tipping, then either don’t tip or tip very lightly. Until you read the room, you don’t want to tip wildly and show other customers up. They may not like that, and you could run into trouble if they’re locals.
The Girls of Hong Kong
There are tons of girls at Hong Kong in Tijuana. Every time I’ve been there, there are way more girls than guys, even compared to typical U.S. strip clubs. So, there’s never a shortage of women inside.
They range in age from 18 to MILF age, so you’ll probably find whatever you’re looking for in there. Most are probably in that 25-35 range, though.
The girls are pretty aggressive, and they have no problem grabbing guys to try to get them to spend money.
Other clubs in the Tijuana area can vary a lot, with some smaller clubs being really slow inside on a lot of days. Those clubs usually have a hotel nearby, and they operate more like a brothel instead of a strip club. There isn’t much dancing or other strip club antics going on. The girls are mostly hanging around, and you choose one to walk over to the nearby hotel.
But back to Hong Kong, the strippers usually don’t speak any English, even basic English like numbers or common phrases. For example, most strippers told me their rates in Spanish. So, it does help a lot if you know some basic Spanish.
You can still get by with no Spanish at all, but just understand that with the noise of the club, the chaos, and the language barrier, you can quickly find yourself not knowing what you just agreed to.
I’ve seen guys using translation apps before, which can work in some cases. But the club is really loud, so your results may vary.
Getting a Lapdance…and More
As I mentioned before, Tijuana clubs are more like brothels. Hong Kong does operate as a strip club, and you can get a standard lapdance either on the main floor or in a private booth if that’s all you want.
You would think private dances would be cheaper, but they’re still about $10 -$15 at Hong Kong. You can also buy the stripper a drink, which usually counts as buying one or two dances. If she likes you and thinks you’ll be getting a private room later, she’ll spend more time with you.
During the dance or afterwards, you can negotiate what you want to do next. You don’t have to get a dance first, but it generally makes the process smoother, and you get a little sample of what to expect. However, you can just see a girl, walk over to her, and tell her what you want. The strippers are fine with that.
Every stripper there will set her own prices, and they can fluctuate a lot. However, the standard rate starts at about $150 for full service once you go to a private room. I’ve had guys tell me the prices are more like $100, but I think those guys haven’t been to Tijuana in a while. The prices have gone up in recent years, just like everywhere else in the world.
However, there are usually lots of things on the menu, from “Greek” to “raw” if that’s your thing.
All those menu options will cost extra, but most of the girls are open to a lot of menu choices, so you might be surprised. But if there’s something very specific you want, make sure you negotiate before you get to the room. The girl has no obligation to do everything you want (regardless of how much you offer) once you get to the room.
Before you go into the room, they’ll charge a fee. I think this fee varies a lot depending on the day and time. I’ve paid between $20 and $50 on my trips, plus a tip of a few dollars. Whatever they charge you, just understand that this is how it works, and it’s not a scam or upsell.
Once inside the room and you’ve negotiated the services you want, the rest is pretty straightforward. The rooms I’ve been in at HK all had a little bathroom area that you could use to clean up afterward.
Attached Hotel
Hong Kong has a semi-attached hotel if you want to stay overnight. I’ve never stayed there, but from what I’ve heard from regulars, it’s relatively safe as long as you stay on the hotel grounds and don’t wander around.
I suppose if you were going to the club in the evening and planned on drinking, then want to sleep it off before returning home, the hotel may be a good idea. It’s not as cheap as you would think, and it costs about the same price per night as a budget hotel in the U.S.
Tips and Advice When Going To Tijuana Strip Clubs
It’s important to understand that going to Tijuana does involve risks. It’s not totally safe, and you can quickly end up in a jail cell or worse. However, if you’re smart and don’t cause trouble, the chances of something going wrong are pretty rare.
Here are my tips for how to stay out of trouble:
Don’t Get Drunk: You really need to stay alert when you’re in Tijuana or at a club like Hong Kong. Getting too drunk can really set you up for trouble, especially if you don’t handle alcohol well or have a history of getting carried away after a few drinks.
Don’t Be Flashy: You don’t want to draw attention to yourself at any point in the trip. This includes when you cross the border, get a ride to the strip club, and inside the club. Nobody should know if you’re wealthy or poor just by looking at you. No fancy clothes, no jewelry, and no brands or English words on your clothes.
Don’t Bring Tons of Cash: I gave you the general costs above, so bring enough cash to get what you want, and not any more.
Stay on the Strip Club Premises: Hong Kong is kind of like a complex, and the hotel, strip club, and brothel rooms are all sort of attached. If you stay on that single property and move around with a purpose, you’re fine.
If you go wandering around, you’re setting yourself up for trouble. Don’t go to Tijuana to sightsee.
Overall, those are the basics. The bottom line is that you want to get in, have your fun, and get out with minimal interactions outside of the strippers you meet. If you do that, it can be a wild time that you can’t really find anywhere else in the world, at least not in this hemisphere.
Why I Don’t Go To Tijuana More Often
I’ve been to Tijuana and HK countless times, and every time I went, I had a great time. There were a few sketchy situations here and there, but nothing worse than what I’ve run into here in America.
But the reason I don’t go more often is that you can’t really chill with the girls like you can at American strip clubs. If you’re a local there, I’m sure you can. But as an outsider, I don’t feel comfortable doing that.

Tijuana strip clubs are more like brothels. You go in, get your service, and leave. There’s not much room for anything else.
In some ways, that’s great.
But for me, it’s only fun once in a while, and I prefer U.S. strip clubs more, even if they require more effort to get extras.
Even with all that, I would say that if you’re a veteran of strip clubs and want to experience something truly unique, it’s well worth making a trip to Tijuana and Hong Kong.
It’s a wild time, and you’ll definitely remember it as one of your most unique strip club experiences ever.
