Finding an escort is always going to be a bit risky. But using an escort review site is usually the least risky way to find an escort, especially in Vegas.
It’s not perfect though, and plenty of scammers find ways to place ads on review sites and take advantage of guys that are in town for a few days.
One of the newest additions to the list of scams is the “deposit” that many escorts now ask for. A deposit is just a portion of the full hour price that the escort asks you to send before the date.
For example, if you’re booking an escort for one hour at $500, she may ask for you to send her $200 via Cash App, Zelle, or some other transfer service first.
This is usually when guys start getting nervous, and they’re not sure if they should go through with it or not.
Below, I’ll explain exactly what to look out for with deposits, and when it’s mostly safe to send one.
Why Vegas Escorts Use Deposits
On the surface, it may seem like deposits are a total scam and have no real purpose, but they actually do.
Having known countless escorts, it’s very common for them to have guys set up a date, and then when the time comes, the guy doesn’t respond to texts or phone calls. For expensive dates or higher-end escorts, they may have gotten all dressed up, did their hair and makeup, and then took an Uber to the hotel, only to get ghosted by the guy.
This happens all the time, and sometimes the guys just got cold feet and were too scared to just tell the escort. Other times, the guy found another escort or just had a change of plans. Either way, this does happen a lot, and the escorts do end up having their time wasted.
That’s why the deposits originally started. Escorts felt that if the guy sends a little cash, he won’t ghost them when the actual date comes.
But as with everything, the scammer escorts caught on, and they started using deposits just to straight up steal money, with no intention of ever showing up once the deposit got transferred.
That means the real question when it comes to deposits is knowing how to spot the difference between the scammers and the legit escorts.
So, here’s how you tell the difference.
When an Escort Deposit is Probably Legit
The best indicator is to look at the escort’s reviews. If she only has a few reviews or her last review is from a long time ago, then you probably shouldn’t trust her with a deposit.
If she’s new and trying to build reviews, she will usually let you slide on the deposit anyway because escorts have a hard time getting clients on review sites if they have zero reviews. This makes them take more risks trying to secure those first few reviews.
So, if a newer escort with zero or very few reviews demands a deposit, there’s a bigger risk that she’s just scamming. New escorts that are legit will take a chance with no deposit.
Another bad sign is if she mostly agrees to everything you ask for, such as time, day, or even the specific activities you want to do. If she just says yes to everything so she can get to the deposit, you need to look out.
An escort that glides over every detail but then gets really serious about the deposit is usually running a scam.
With all this being said, you want to look for an escort on the review site that has a good number of recent reviews. These are the least likely to run a deposit scam on you. Also, check where the reviews are from. If most of them are in Vegas (or whatever city you’re in), it means she’s likely legit and has regulars in that city.
If an escort has reviews on the review sites, but they’re all from different cities, it means she may scam in one city, then move to the next. This isn’t always the case, as escorts do travel, but it’s another piece of information you can add to your list.
Finally, if it all seems too good to be true, and then she asks for a deposit, it’s probably fake. For example, if she’s hot, young, and only charging $200 with an open menu, you need to be suspicious. Yes, sometimes new escorts try to price themselves too low because they don’t know how much to charge, or they just want reviews.
But this is few and far between, and usually, an escort that sounds too good to be true and then asks for a deposit is likely going to steal your money.
Knowing How To Talk To an Escort Can Avoid Deposits Entirely
A scamming escort is going to try to get a deposit no matter what, so there’s nothing you can really do unless you detect she’s a scammer before sending money.
However, legit escorts will usually skip the deposit if they feel comfortable talking to the guy, and the guy seems like he knows what he’s doing.
I have a whole article on the best way to contact an escort from a review site. The trick is to know how escorts like to set up dates, and make it as smooth as possible. If you do that, she likely won’t even ask for a deposit.
Personally, I’ve never paid a deposit, and escorts rarely ask for them when we meet up the first time.
The biggest tip is to read her review site ad carefully. They’ll usually have a preferred method of first contact, such as text or phone call. If she says texts only, and you call, you’re already off on the wrong foot.
Just keep in mind, sometimes escorts don’t update their ads for a long time, so the instructions or details may be out of date. But if it seems current, it’s best to follow the instructions as much as possible.

But once again, I rarely send screening info to escorts. If they get the vibe you know what you’re doing when setting up the date, they’ll usually skip it.
Overall, my advice is to only send a deposit if the escort has good reviews that are recent (within the last 30 days) and you really want to see that specific escort.
If you have other escorts you want to see, just go with the ones that don’t ask for a deposit, as that’s the safest bet. But I do know how sometimes a specific escort just sparks your interest and you have to see her.
If so, just use the tips above, and you’ll avoid any deposit scams and have a great time when she arrives ready at your hotel.
