There are a few mistakes guys can make when going to a strip club that will almost always end in having a bad time. But more than just having a bad time, you’ll end up spending way more money than you should have.
If you want to find the worst stripper in the club and get the most boring lap dances, these tips will help you out.
(Hint: Don’t do these things!)
1. Getting a Dance From the Stripper Ganging Out by the Entrance.
This can happen at almost any strip club, but it happens in Vegas a lot. A few strippers will like to hang out by the front door and get the first look at customers who walk in.
They do this because these are the girls who try to snatch up customers as soon as they walk in and have the most cash in their pockets. They immediately hard-sell to try to get guys to buy some dances as soon as they walk in.
The problem is that these strippers who hang by the front door always give the most boring lap dances. All they do is churn through the new guys as they walk in and try to earn some quick cash in exchange for a boring dance.
Never waste your time or money with these strippers, even if you think they’re hot. They’ll talk you into getting a bunch of dances, but you’ll quickly realize how boring they are halfway through the first dance.
Do this instead: When you go to any strip club, chill for a little bit. Especially in Vegas, go in and take your time to figure out which strippers seem like fun and which ones are just wandering around hustling.
Also, don’t be afraid to tip a little at the stage to see what each stripper has to offer. I have an article here that explains how to use stage tipping to find strippers who don’t mind giving out extras.
2. Buying a package or Table Service
There’s nothing inherently wrong with table or bottle service if that’s what you want. Just be aware, this can attract the scammy strippers looking to cash in.
Also, the scammy strippers usually bully the chill strippers at the club, so if you attract the scammy strippers, the cool strippers will probably stay away.
Yeah, strip club dynamics can be complicated.
So, if you are with a group of guys and you want table service, that’s totally fine. Just understand you may attract more hard-sell strippers who won’t leave you alone.
Do this instead: If you’re in a group and still want to attract strippers to where you are, all you have to do is tip them a little on stage (the strippers you like), then tell them to come over to your table or where you’re sitting.
As long as you tip, buy drinks, or are just cool and getting private dances here and there, they’ll come over to your group and hang out the whole night.
There’s no real need to buy a table or bottle service unless you really want that specific experience.
3. Starting with a VIP room instead of a regular lap dance
This is a huge mistake, and you end up blowing your money fast and may get nothing in return.
I always suggest guys start with a regular block of lap dances in the basic private dance area. At most clubs, you only need to get 3-5 dances as a minimum.
The reason you want to start with a few regular dances is that you can get a feel for whether the stripper gives good lap dances or not. You can also check if she lets you break the rules a little.
This article explains the differences between lap dances, floor dances, and VIP dances.
A stripper who doesn’t break the rules in the private dance area won’t let you do more in the VIP.
Overall, avoid the VIP room to start.
Do this instead: Just get the minimum number of dances when you pick out a stripper you like. If the dances are good or she’s letting you break a few rules, you can always move up to a VIP room if you want to and can afford it.
But never start with a VIP room, even if you have a big budget.
4. Getting Cash From the ATM While a Stripper Watches (don’t be this guy)
Just about every time I’ve been to a strip club, I’ve seen at least one guy getting cash from an ATM while a stripper stands there watching him.
Usually, this is because the drunk guy agreed to some dances but didn’t have enough money, so he’s getting cash from the ATM. The stripper is “standing guard” because she doesn’t want to lose the customer if he comes to his senses at some point.
If you’re getting cash from the ATM while a stripper stands over you, congratulations, you’ve met one of the worst strippers in the club.
Do this instead: Always bring cash to a strip club. Yes, I’ve made the mistake of taking out more cash at the strip club ATM. We all make this mistake. But it’s still a mistake.
It’s even worse if the stripper is watching you do it because she doesn’t want you to “get away” once you have those crisp new bills in your hand.
If you ever catch yourself getting cash from the ATM and a stripper is standing right next to you, cancel the transaction.
Or, at the very least, get the cash but don’t get a dance from that stripper. Chill out and decide if you want to spend more cash or not. Don’t worry, that stripper isn’t going anywhere.
5. Paying a Stripper With a Credit Card or App
This is similar to the previous advice, but it goes a little further. You shouldn’t really use a credit card at all at a strip club.
A lot of guys think they’re paying for a set of private dances or a VIP room at one price with a credit card, but when they wake up the next day, they see a much bigger charge.
The club didn’t scam them; the guy just didn’t understand what was going on. He was probably drunk, the club is dark, there were boobs in his face, and he wasn’t thinking straight.
This can happen to all of us, and it’s why you don’t use a credit card in a strip club. I’ve heard stories of guys waking up with $40K in charges on an Amex company credit card, so it can happen to anybody, even high-rollers.
Besides credit cards, you should avoid paying with apps. This includes PayPal, CashApp, or anything like that. It’s way too easy to not realize how much you’re sending.
Do this instead: Bring cash. I have an article explaining how much money to bring to a Vegas strip club. You can use that to see what you need to bring based on what service you want.
Stay Smart
This article may make it seem like strip clubs are all about scams and boring strippers, but that’s not the intent. Strip clubs can be huge fun, and you can have experiences there that you just can’t get anywhere else.
You just need to steer clear of a few mistakes that can derail your good time. If you do that, you’ll have exactly the experience you want without wasting any time or money.
