Some of you out there might be wondering what the point is of chatting up a stripper. The point of a strip club is to avoid all the small talk and get right to some fun in the VIP.
While that is true, and sometimes, it makes total sense. But other times, talking to a stripper can drastically improve the experience, both in the VIP room and if you’re looking for some extras. Every stripper I’ve hung around with outside of the club was one I met by just talking to her, not throwing cash at her.
Also, it can make the night more fun as you joke around with a stripper between trips to the VIP or private dance area.

Pick The Right Stripper
The biggest thing here is to pick the right stripper while in the club. I go more into detail about this in several articles, including this one here. To sum it up, every club has at least a few strippers inside on any given night who just want to have fun. 90% are there to make their quota of cash for the night, but 10% are just looking to hang out and have fun with a few free drinks, as long as the guy they meet is cool.
The point is, don’t try to force it. If you come across a stripper who you really like but she’s just working the main floor looking to maximize her earnings, don’t bother. Unless you just want a lap dance and nothing else, avoid these girls doing the hard sell.
Tip #1: Keep Things Light
There have been so many times I’ve been at a strip club and witnessed some guy talking about his job to some stripper. She looks totally bored, and this guy is just rambling on. Perhaps he’s spending enough to keep her there listening, but all that talk isn’t going to get him a better lap dance.
Keep the conversation light and upbeat. Remember what I said about the 10% of strippers in the club who just want to party that night? They don’t want to hear about your job or how your 401K is doing.
If you’re not sure what topics to talk about, just let the stripper guide the conversation. If she sort of lights up when talking about a specific topic, that tells you what you should focus on. Sometimes strippers love gossiping about other strippers and strip clubs. If so, just go along with that and share some stories about strippers you’ve met. For example, if she’s making fun of a certain type of stripper or club, think back to when you came across a stripper like that and mention it.
Generally, strippers are gossipy, and they don’t have many people they can vent to. So if you land on a topic they like to gossip about, you’re in.
Tip #2: You Don’t Have To Talk A Lot
Like I just mentioned, most strippers don’t have many people they can talk about their job with. So if you’re not a great talker, just let the stripper do most of the talking.
Once you find a subject she goes on about, just keep it going by asking a few follow-up questions here and there to keep it going.
This may seem like you’re just listening to a stripper ramble. But the stories they tell are usually entertaining if you are curious about strip club life, plus you’ll get a way better lap dance later on if she feels comfortable with you.
Of course, if you find her conversation boring, just move on unless you’re trying to score a phone number or set something up outside the club, which I’ll touch on next.
Tip #3: Ask For A Phone Number
This is for guys who are looking for some action outside of the strip club. This gets into a whole different topic, but hooking up with a stripper outside of the club always starts with being able to talk with her in the club and then getting a phone number.
Getting a phone number is way easier after some conversation, and not just you throwing cash around. Many times, she’s eager to give it to you after she feels more comfortable with you. I have strippers offer me their phone number to hook up later without me even asking.
I’ve mentioned this before, throwing money at a stripper doesn’t usually guarantee you’ll get any extra action. In fact, sometimes it can have the opposite effect because the stripper immediately sees you as an easy mark.
This Works
To be clear, I’m not telling guys to sit and talk with a stripper for 5 hours. A 10-minute conversation where you joke back and forth can turn a mild VIP experience into a wild one. Not to mention, every so often, you click and get a phone number, opening up some even wilder opportunities outside the club.
This mostly works if you’re solo or with a small group. Obviously, if you’re with a bachelor party or large group, it’s mostly about throwing cash and laughing it up with your buddies.
But if you’re solo, give this a try next time you’re at a strip club. You’ll quickly find that mastering a little bit of conversation will drastically improve the experience you’re having, both inside the club and maybe even outside the club.
