How Much Money Should You Bring to a Vegas Strip Club?

If you’re visiting a Vegas strip club for the first time, one of the biggest questions you might have is how much money you should bring.

If you’re rich and money is no object, then you’re very lucky and you can bring as much as you want. However, for the rest of us, we usually want some kind of idea of what we’ll need to spend before walking in the door.

To help you out, I’ll go over the basics of how much a Vegas strip club costs so you know what to bring.

The Cover Charge

Every strip club in Vegas will have a cover charge. The one exception is if you use their transportation to arrive at the club (more on that later).

The cover charge in Vegas can range from $5 to $100. Most mid-tier clubs are going to cost between $40 and $70. Sometimes they will include a two-drink minimum, although this is becoming less common, some clubs still have it, and it adds about $30 to the cover charge.

Check the club’s website before you go to see what their policy is.

If you call the club and arrange for their transportation to pick you up, they usually will totally waive the cover charge or cut it in half. Once again, check the club’s website for info.

The pickup service for most Vegas strip clubs is pretty straightforward, and there isn’t any kind of catch. Just be aware that they may try to upsell you on a “package”, which you don’t have to agree to. Just say you don’t want a package and you’ll be fine.

We have an article here explaining why most strip club packages aren’t usually worthwhile. But the transportation can be beneficial, especially if you have a group.

How Much Do Drinks Cost at a Vegas Strip Club

Like most clubs, Vegas strip clubs usually rip you off with the drinks. Beers are around $15 at the low end, and cocktails start at about $20 if you order decent liquor. If you’re on a budget, I generally suggest pre-drinking for cheap at a casino using this Vegas free drink method, then grabbing a quick Uber to the strip club. If you’re a heavy drinker, you can easily save a few hundred bucks that you can spend on private dances or VIP.

Most strip clubs in Vegas offer bottle service, and it starts around $350 at most clubs. Some clubs like Las Toxicas have regular specials with bottles as low as $100. Check the websites for current specials if you plan on getting bottle service.

Private Dance Costs at a Vegas Strip Club

This is probably what most of you are curious about. Private dances in a Vegas strip club will generally cost between $25 at the low end and $45 each at the high end.

If you’re not familiar, one private dance equals one song’s worth of dancing. So your dance starts when the song starts, and it’s over when the song is over, and a new one starts playing.

Most Vegas clubs are pretty good at playing full songs, so you do typically get a full song’s worth of dancing.

One thing about Vegas clubs is that when they’re busy, the girls won’t just do one or two dances. You’ll generally need to buy them in blocks of 5 dances.

Because of this, don’t just grab the first girl who walks up to you and go for a private dance. If it turns out her dances are boring or you don’t vibe with her, you have to sit there for 5 songs thinking about your wasted money.

Take some time to check out the club and watch a few of the girls. Only pull the trigger on a private dance if you think the girl is fun and will be into it. Sometimes, looks aren’t everything when it comes to a great private dance. But that’s up to you.

In most of the nicer Vegas strip clubs, the private dance area is separate from the VIP area.

The private dance area is usually “semi-private” with a curtain or maybe nothing at all covering the entrance. This is the area used when you buy a block of dances.

The VIP areas are generally more private and often have a door that closes for each room. The room has its own furniture and sometimes its own speaker system. The VIP rooms are usually sold by the time used.

The minimum is 15 minutes, but if the club is busy, expect to have to get 30 minutes or an hour.

These prices can vary a lot, but expect them to start around $300. They also tend to include drink minimums, so that can add about $30 to the price.

I generally avoid the VIP room. It’s overpriced, and if you find the right girl, she’ll be just as wild in the private dance area as she is in the VIP.

Another tip is that strippers will promise all kinds of things to get you to spring for the VIP room, but they have no obligation to do anything they talk about. So be aware of the stripper who swears she’ll give extras or have sex in the VIP. This is especially true if she is really pushy about it.

You can always switch from a private dance to a VIP room if you really click with the dancer and want more privacy. So it always makes sense to just get a private dance to test the waters.

I have an article here that goes over how extras in the strip club VIP work and explains what to expect.

Always Bring Cash

As someone who has more experience with nightlife than I care to admit, I can assure you of one thing: When you visit the ATM while involved in some kind of “vice” activity, you always end up regretting it the next day. Yes, visiting a strip club is a type of vice, so it applies here as well.

Based on what I wrote above, add up how much you plan to spend and bring that much cash, or maybe an extra $100 to cover this or that. Leave the credit card in your hotel room. Not to mention, some Vegas strip clubs have insane ATM fees as high as $80, so that makes it even worse if you have to grab cash while at the club.

The money you spend doesn’t really equal how many extras you get from a stripper, so there’s no need to spend more than you want to.

If anything, going with a set amount of money makes you focus on picking the most fun strippers, so you end up having a better time than if you think you can always hit the ATM and get more cash.

But either way, it’s up to you how you spend your money. However, strip clubs are way more fun when you get a little more than what you pay for, and don’t wake up with an empty bank account.
